A rueful James Packer has admitted he may need to further distance himself from the Crown casino group, and said he was ‘terribly shocked’ by the exposure of links to organised crime groups and the use of high-roller junkets to bypass Chinese laws.
The 53-year-old appeared via Zoom from his $200million yacht moored in the South Pacific on Thursday to front an inquiry into Crown’s suitability to operate a new luxury casino in Sydney.
Answering questions for the third day, 보험비교견적 Packer said he expected a significant shake-up to Crown’s governance following revelations Crown had business dealings with Chinese junket operators linked to organised crime.
‘This has been a terribly painful and terribly shocking experience for the board, 다이렉트자동차보험 as it has been for me.
I won’t be going on the board again. The board will be more independent than it was in the past,’ Packer said.
Mr Packer resigned as director of Crown Resorts in December 2015 but as a 36 per cent shareholder he was given privileged information about the operations of the company as part of a ‘major 다이렉트자동차보험 shareholder protocol’.
